Its super hot tot today so i decide to make a mango smoothie because gran bought a whole lot of mangos and no-one seems to be eating them so I'll put the to good use, Mango Smoothie it is . Here's the recipe below...

What you'll need

A cup of sliced mango ( mine was frozen)
2 scoops of protein powder (used vanilla flavour)
A cup cold of water.

How to:
Put it all into a blender mix until smooth and enjoy.

Health benefits of mango

1. Helps fight cancer

Mango has Antioxidants like quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat present in mango protect the body against various forms of cancer.

2. They help cleanse the skin

Mango's help clear clogged pores that cause  acne and  leaves skin fresh. Just rub a slice of mango on your face , live it on for 15 - 20 minutes and rinse with cool water.

3. Helps in wweight loss

Mango contains a lot of vitamins and nutrients that need our body needs. It makes you feel fuller for longer and its fibra boosts the digestive function of the body helping the body burn additional calories.

4. Helps regulate diabetes

For people suffering from diabetes, mango can help regulate your insulin levels. Boil about 5-6 mango leaves in a vessel, soak it through night and drink the filtered decoction in the morning.

5. Helps your vision

Mango has tones of vitamin A. One cup of sliced mango is equal to 25% intake of your daily need of vitamin A. They help in promoting good eyesight, fights dry eyes and also prevent night blindness.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, divided
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup maple syrup (I used sugar free)
1 cup milk (I used skim)
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2-3 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
1 cup blueberries or raspberries, fresh or frozen, divided

How to make

1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.

2. Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix the oats, half of the walnuts, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine. In a liquid measuring cup, combine the syrup, milk, egg, butter, and vanilla.

3. Spread the sliced bananas in a single layer over the bottom of the baking dish. Top with half of the berries. Sprinkle the dry oat mixture over the fruit in an even layer. Pour the liquid ingredients evenly over the oats.

4. Sprinkle the remaining nuts and berries over the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is browned and the oats have set. Let cool 10 minutes before serving.

Lulu Dikana the sister of Zonke Dikana passed away last night. The cause of death is not yet confirmed by the family.

She had recently released her third album, I Came To Love, which was receiving great reviews as well as airplay. She also had the honour to open for Grammy-award winning singer John Legend on the Johannesburg leg of his All of Me tour recently, she said it was a dream come true.

Lulu was indeed a star on the rise and it is sad that she has passed, strength to her family. May her soul rest in peace

Solange (28)  had an all white  wedding in New Orleans on Sunday where she got wed to long term boyfriend  Alan Ferguson (51) . She wore a gown created by  Humberto Leon for Kenzo and the pre - wedding look was created by Stephane Rolland.

Close to a 100 guests attended the wedding at New Orleans church Sunday afternoon to see Knowles and Ferguson wed. Jay - z  and Blue Ivy missed the pre-wedding party but joined Beyonce for the wedding ceremony.

It was a beautiful chilled wedding.

2 slices whole wheat bread
1 can light tuna packed in olive oil, drained
1 spoons mayonnaise
zest and juice of 1 lemon
1 egg, hard boiled and finely chopped
 chopped dill pickles
1 tablespoon minced onion
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
salt to taste
4 leaves green leaf lettuce, chopped
4 slices tomato, thinly sliced

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon zest and lemon juice. Add tuna, eggs, pickles, minced onion and lemon pepper and stir to coat. Add additional mayonnaise if needed. Salt to taste.
Divide tuna salad among 1 slices of bread. Top each with chopped lettuce and tomato slices. Top with remaining 1 slices of bread and serve.

Day 9 of our 30 day flat belly challenge - breakfast

Baked Eggs in the Basket

2 pieces of bread
2 eggs
Butter
Salt and pepper
Minced fresh chives, or any other green herb you like

A muffin tray

Preheat oven to 190 degrees; generously butter two muffin wells. Trim the bread to fit inside the muffin wells. Place a piece of bread into each well, then gently crack an egg into each piece of bread. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on top of each egg and bake until the egg reaches your desired consistency (about 14-18 minutes gives set whites with runny yolks; increase time from there if you like a more well done yolk). To serve, let the egg baskets rest about 5 minutes in the tray, then run a sharp paring knife around the outside and use a fork to gently remove (if you used ramekins, you can serve them in the ramekins.) If desired, sprinkle minced fresh chives on top before serving. You can also serve with hollandaise if you like.

Day 5 of our 30 Day Flat Belly Challenge - lunch

Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

2 slices whole wheat bread
1 small banana
½ tsp cinnamon
peanut butter

Toast bread and slice banana. Layer banana on one slice of toast and dust with cinnamon. Spread the second slice with peanut butter, then sandwich the two together and eat straight away.

Peanut butter - Keeps you full for longer
Banana - Helps speed up your metabolism and has few calories
Cinnamon - Helps store less fatty acid

How to...

Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat; cook and stir beef until browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Move beef to the side of the pan and add broccoli, green and red pepper, carrots, onion, and garlic to the pan. Cook and stir vegetables for 2 minutes. Stir beef into vegetables and season with soy sauce salt and paper. Continue to cook and stir until vegetables are tender. serve on your rice..

How to:
Mix eggs, celery and mayo in a bowl. Spread on your whole wheat bread and top up with basil leaves. Season with pepper.

Apple and Cinnamon Water

1 apple thinly sliced
1 fresh cinnamon stick
cold water
A large jug

How to:

Add apple slices and cinnamon stick to your jug. Pour the water in..

If you want more flavour you can add in more apples our slice them a bit thinner.

Drink a glass before every meal. Keep apple-cinnamon water in the fridge not more than 3 days.

What you'll need:

2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 waffle
raisins

Spread waffle with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. You can also sprinkle on 1 tablespoon of raisins, sesame seeds, or extra peanuts for even more fiber, which helps deliver the meal's nutrients slowly and steadily.

What you'll need


1/2 a ripe papaya—peeled, seeded, and sliced
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric

Mash the papaya in a bowl with a fork until evenly mashed, mix in the other ingredients by hand. Spread over your face, be careful that no mixture gets into your eyes. Let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes. Wipe or rinse your face clean with warm water.

2 teaspoons light mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1 whole-wheat tortilla
1 large lettuce leaf
4 slices lean roast beef
1/4 cup chopped tomato

How to make:

1.Mix the mayonnaise and horseradish in a small bowl. Spread the mixture on one side of your tortilla.

2.Place the lettuce leaf in the center of the tortilla, followed by the roast beef and tomato. Fold the outer edges in, then roll.
