Linda was fired last Thursday for alleged fraud and corruption. At the time, SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said the public broadcaster would not make details public.

Over the past week, Linda has been threatening on Twitter to call a media briefing where he would reveal the secrets of the radio managers.

But at the media briefing at Durban City Hall, he only said he didn’t know why he was fired.

“My dismissal was a shock. I never saw it coming.

“I was never given time to study the charge sheet,” he said before claiming that other radio stations had already approached him.

He dismissed reports that his name appeared on the ANC’s candidate list.

The Communication Workers Union’s Thami Mzelemu said they had written a letter to Ukhozi FM station manager, Bonga Mpanza.

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal distanced itself from the matter.

Linda earlier alleged that he was shown the door because of his obvious support of the ANC. The party’s provincial spokesman, Senzo Mkhize, said: “The matter is between the employer and the employee. The ANC is not involved at all.”

At the briefing, Linda was with popular Pastor Vusi Dube, Advocate Ronald Ntshangase, a representative of his union, and a handful of Ukhozi FM announcers.

Addressing the ANC issue, Linda said: “I interact with leaders across the political spectrum.

“When I’m at a restaurant in Cape Town, I pick up the phone and call Bantu Holomisa of the UDM and then order fish. That’s the meal both of us like.”

All I can say is that the press conference was a waste of precious time. we wanted the juicy detail but nothing came out of it....
