Since marrying Fox News anchor Adam Housley, she has received incredibly hurtful criticism from politically partisan and racist trolls on Twitter. She recently described this experience to Oprah:

‘See, this is where I get emotional, because it’s hurtful,’ Mowry said.

‘Because when my husband and I are so openly — and we’re fine with showing — is love. Love. But people choose to look past love and spew hate. That’s what hurts me, because I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life, ever.’

‘I get called ‘white man’s whore,’ she said. ‘The new one was ‘back in the day you cost $300, but now you’re giving it to him for free.’ mowrey

This nasty group-shaming contrasts with the way Mowry-Housley was raised:

‘My mom is a beautiful black woman and my dad is an amazing white man, and I grew up seeing a family. I didn’t grow up saying, ‘Oh, that’s a white man.’

Adam Housley responded to the harassment his wife has taken, as reported by Mediaite:

“The fact that in this day and age, we get attacked for our interracial relationship is beyond sad…it is pathetic,” he said. “Yes I am white. Yes she is half black. Marrying a white man does not erase her color and marrying a woman who is half black does not mean I am blinded. The problem isn’t pigmentation…the problem is backwards, bigoted thought from people who should know better.”

When people troll the internet to leave tasteless, ignorant comments, they accomplish nothing but pain.
