ON SABC1, there’s more drama off-screen than on-screen! And central to this drama is actress and presenter Pearl Thusi. Not only has Pearl had some beef with her colleague Luthando “LootLove” Shosha, but now it seems other colleagues have had it with her stinky attitude.
Sunday Sun reported last month that Pearl fuelled the rift between herself and Lootlove when she took LootLove's dress at the Metro FM Awards in Durban.
Now Pearl is said to have angered producers of LIVE Amp because of her attitude.
An insider who spoke to Sunday Sun said: “They are questioning her role as the third presenter.” The source said Urban Brew never had a budget for her in the first place.
“And creative-wise she doesn’t add any value. Yes, she is pretty and all but so is Lootlove,” said the source.
The source added that Pearl was brought in by the channel. “But the big question now is: what is her role?” The source went on to say that Pearl doesn’t speak to people nicely. “She is unbearable, rude and difficult to work with. Her attitude stinks.”
Another insider told the SunTeam her drama with Lootlove made things even worse.
“They don’t breathe the same air,” said the source. According to our source, Pearl didn’t show any remorse towards Lootlove. Lootlove is easy-going, said the source.
“She’s not a diva and doesn’t think highly of herself,” said the source.
Pearl is said to be late often. LIVE Amp producer known only as Sjula told Sunday Sun: “Presenters are sometimes late and it’s not Pearl only. “Pearl is the coolest person to work with and was apologetic about the dress,” said Sjula. Pearl’s manager, Simphiwe Majola said : “Pearl is a professional. “All these rumours are baseless.”
